Shoulder and Elbow Surgery

Anatomic shoulder replacement

Anatomic Total Shoulder Replacement

Total shoulder replacement involves replacing the ball and socket of the shoulder joint with prosthetic components, usually as management of arthritis. Anatomic shoulder replacement relies on the intact surrounding muscles and ligaments to stabilise and move the new shoulder. Our surgeons have extensive expertise and experience and can advise whether this is the appropriate surgery for your shoulder condition.

Reverse Shoulder replacement

Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement

Reverse total shoulder replacement involves replacing the ball and socket of the shoulder joint in such a way that not all of the muscles around the shoulder are required in order to use the new shoulder normally. This is particularly useful following trauma or in situations where the shoulder muscles (the rotator cuff) have degenerated and no longer work normally. Our surgeons can assess your shoulder and determine if this is most appropriate management strategy for your particular situation.

Shoulder arthroscopy

Shoulder Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy (key-hole) â€‹surgery for the shoulder is a minimally invasive method of managing tendon, ligament, cartilage and labral conditions that can otherwise significantly impair normal shoulder function. Our surgeons can expertly assess and manage your shoulder arthroscopically if this is the appropriate management for your shoulder problem.
